The event organized jointly by the Government of La Pampa, through the Ministries of Production and Education, CERET, INTA, and INTeA, included the participation of the Undersecretary of Agrarian Affairs, Ricardo Baraldi, the head of CERET, Juan Manuel Bello, authorities from INTA, producers, technicians, and engineers who worked on the project.
Baraldi emphasized the possibility of having these types of tools. “Today horticulturists are going to work on efficiency, here they will simplify the number of work hours.” In addition, the provincial official highlighted that it is a machine designed and made by people from INTA, “this is INTA, innovation, technology that is provided for the horticultural sector, for small producers, from the Province, based on a decision by Governor Sergio Ziliotto who always supports INTA, and we see in contrast a national government that is asking to dismantle this institution. Today, through this work and the presentation of this machinery, we once again demonstrate the importance of INTA, mainly for small and medium producers."
The Undersecretary of Agrarian Affairs referred to the need for a present State: “today there are things that if the State were not present, they could not be done by the private sector; there is a commitment here with connectivity, technology, support for horticultural ventures, nut production, and vineyards in the Province. All these types of actions, if the provincial Government were not present today, it would be very complicated for the private sector to invest in these microproductions.”
Finally, he recalled the ongoing support for the sector, “from the Ministry of Production, together with the Bank of La Pampa, we try to have credit lines that are suitable for the productions. We maintain dialogue with the producers, whether in the various agricultural roundtables or dialogue tables, so that we can, through their proposals, design a credit line with the people from the Bank that is appropriate for the production and for these times.”
Important tool for the work of horticulturists #
Juan Manuel Bello highlighted that the tractor is developed by INTA “with the idea of extending the use of the tractor, regarding the advantages it provides in terms of efficiency, reduction of working hours, and simplification of many tasks. The idea is to show it, to be able to have it in the CERET, to be able to work here, and it is also for the producers to use it.”. Producers from the Horticultural Association and members of schools with greenhouses were also part of the event. As a closing remark, the CERET director stated: “I have no doubt that it will be a very important tool for the work of horticulturists.”
