The National Commission for Space Activities (CONAE), from Argentina, announced that registration is open for the virtual course Optical Remote Sensing - Introductory Level, a basic training proposal in the use of satellite images for Earth observation.
This course is designed for anyone interested in learning how to use satellite imagery, with no prior experience required. It is offered entirely online , with access to materials and asynchronous tutorials through the CONAE Education Unit’s Virtual Classroom. Upon completion, participants receive a certificate of completion issued by the Education Department of the Argentine Space Agency.

Registration: from Wednesday, April 15 at 10:00 a.m., and remains open until April 26, 2026 (or until the quota of 1,000 vacancies is exhausted, whichever comes first).

Course dates: from Monday, April 27th to Sunday, June 14th, 2026.

Format: Distance learning, free of charge.

Workload: 30 hours (6 classes distributed over 6 weeks).

Requirements: You must have a computer with Windows 7 or higher / Linux operating system, i3 processor or higher, 4 GB of RAM, 30 GB of free disk space, a 1 Mbit/s internet connection, and basic computer skills.
Registration is done through the CONAE Education Unit’s Virtual Classroom via self-enrollment, using a previously registered user account. The program is open to the general public who meet the technical requirements.**
