In the city of Eduardo Castex, a day of training and institutional articulation was held in the field of mental health and problematic consumption, within the framework of a series of meetings that are carried out in different localities based on demands arising in the Neighborhood Forums of Public and Citizen Security.

The activity was jointly promoted by the Ministry of Security and Justice and the Undersecretary of Mental Health, based on a request from Mayor Mónica Curutchet, with the aim of strengthening the territorial approach and generating tools for intervention in the community. The meeting was attended by representatives of local institutions, including municipal authorities, police personnel, health teams, education institutions and other community actors, together with prosecutor Oscar Cazenave, consolidating an inter-institutional work space.

During the meeting, concepts related to the prevention of problematic consumption were addressed, instances of exchange on local situations were generated and the construction of joint strategies to improve interventions in the territory was promoted. In this framework, the importance of networking as a key tool to provide comprehensive responses to complex problems was highlighted.

In relation to the activity, Soledad Martínez, director of the inclusion support team of School No. 4, valued the meeting and said to the Provincial News Agency that “it was a very fruitful day because it allowed us to address clear concepts and eliminate prejudices on the subject, which is essential to be able to continue working in the community.”

She also highlighted the participatory nature of the space “was very enriching to be able to share with representatives of different institutions in a climate of respect and trust, where different views could be heard and agreements could be advanced to strengthen networking.” She also stressed the need to expand the call for future meetings, incorporating non-governmental organizations, and remarked that this “issues concern the entire community and require a joint and sustained approach over time were discussed.’

These actions on Castex give continuity to the day developed days ago in Falucho, where a space for training and institutional articulation in mental health was also promoted, based on local demands that arose in the Neighborhood Forums. Authorities from the Development Commission, police personnel, health teams, educational institutions and provincial technical teams participated in that meeting, advancing in the construction of joint strategies to address problematic consumption and other social problems. During the day, tools for intervention were provided, experiences were shared and the generation of networks between institutions was promoted, with the aim of strengthening prevention and improving the response to complex situations in the territory.

As a result, it was agreed to maintain direct support channels between provincial teams and local actors, favoring the exchange of materials, experiences and intervention strategies. In this sense, the *social worker of the Development Commission, Amparo Alegre, valued the importance of these spaces and stressed that “having the accompaniment of teams specialized in mental health and addictions is essential to strengthen the work in the territory. They provided us with concrete tools that allow us to improve interventions and better accompany the community.”

Alegre concluded that “the meetings allow us to generate new strategies, exchange experiences and build collective responses,’ and stressed the need to sustain them over time: ‘It is key that local teams do not feel alone and can work in a more coordinated way.’
