Every May 18, International Museums Day is celebrated around the world, a date established by the International Council of Museums (ICOM). In La Pampa, the commemoration exceeds the day and expands with a diversity of proposals that take place between May 15 and 24.
Promoted by the Network of Museums of the Provincial Directorate of Cultural Heritage (under the Secretariat of Culture)**, the activities cover 71 spaces between museums and public and private collections throughout the province.
In contrast to the old idea of the museum as a silent and untouchable temple, social museology proposes the museum as a forum, as a space for open and diverse conversation.
