The exhibition will be inaugurated next Tuesday, June 9, at 7:00 PM in conjunction with the UNLPam in the MPHN, Quintana 116. The proposal is free and open to the public, and it combines scientific research with a multimedia experience to rescue and value the linguistic diversity of the region.
The La Pampa’s Provincial Museum of Natural History, under the Secretariat of Culture, invited to the opening of the temporary exhibition “To the Wind. Languages of the Fuegopatagonian and Pampean territories.”
The exhibition, organized in conjunction with the Secretariat of Culture and University Extension of the National University of La Pampa (UNLPam), can be visited between the months of June and August. In addition to the main exhibition, the institutions involved planned a complementary agenda that will include artistic activities, book presentations, and various meetings related to the subject matter.
“Al Viento” is the result of a collective development in which researchers, teachers, non-teaching staff, scholarship holders, and students from the National University of Río Negro (UNRN), the National University of La Pampa (UNLPam), other national universities, and CONICET researchers.
The proposal arises from intense archival work that allowed for the recovery of valuable linguistic records of the indigenous peoples of the Fuegian-Patagonian and Pampean territories. Based on that scientific foundation, a multimedia and interactive experience was built, integrated by information panels and photographs, three-dimensional objects, audio and video recordings, and interactive maps.
The Provincial News Agency stated that the main objective of the exhibition is to actively contribute to the revitalization, visualization, and appreciation of the cultural and linguistic diversity of the region, promoting knowledge and community reflection on the linguistic heritage of the native peoples.
