The Natural History Museum renews its family-friendly offerings for the winter break

The Provincial Museum of Natural History (MPHN), under the Secretariat of Culture, invited families from La Pampa and tourists visiting the province to explore its galleries during this winter break. With free admission, the Museum remains open throughout the holidays during the following hours: Monday to Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

As part of an ongoing improvement plan aimed at providing a more comfortable experience, the MPHN has added new benches to its various galleries. This furniture allows visitors to stop, rest, and contemplate the exhibits more comfortably. Furthermore, ongoing building and design improvements are being made to the exhibition spaces to optimize each visit.

The high level of visitor interest was demonstrated by the large number of visitors at the start of the winter break. Between Saturday, July 11, and Thursday, July 16, a total of 1,268 people visited the Museum.

The visitor numbers reflect a strong family focus: 46% were children (588), 46% were adults (579), and 8% were young people (101). In addition to visitors from Santa Rosa, the Museum attracted residents of General Pico, Anguil, Miguel Riglos, and Catriló, as well as tourists from the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Salta, Tucumán, and Mercedes (Corrientes).

In conjunction with the temporary exhibition “To the Wind: Languages of the Tierra del Fuego, Patagonia, and Pampas Territories,” a special event will be held on Thursday, July 23, at 4:00 PM . The event, led by Javier Villalba, will explore Indigenous languages as pillars of cultural heritage and the identity of Indigenous peoples.
